Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), the philanthropic arm of Yash Raj Films, has announced the YCF Scholarship Program 2026. This is the second year of this initiative and it aims to provide financial assistance for higher education to children from families associated with the Hindi film industry.

Which students will get the benefit: eligibility and purpose

This scholarship is for children of registered Hindi film industry workers and YCF fellow members. These are families that play a vital role in the film industry ecosystem, but often face financial challenges regarding the cost of education. This initiative aims to help such students achieve their career and life goals.

Assistance up to ₹5 lakh: Big support for higher education

YCF will provide financial assistance up to ₹5 lakh to each selected student. This scholarship will be available to students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in recognized institutions in India for the academic year 2026–27. Students will be selected on the basis of their academic merit and financial need.

Which courses and streams will get support

This scholarship covers film and creative fields such as Film Studies, Media and Communication, Animation, Visual Effects, Cinematography, Direction and Visual Arts. Apart from this, many professional streams have also been added to it this year, such as:

• Engineering
• Medical and Paramedical Sciences
• Business and Management
• Law
• information technology

With this, more students will get the benefit of this scheme.

Tuition Fees Cover: Applicable in recognized institutions

This scholarship will cover the tuition fees of the eligible course. This will be applicable only in NAAC approved, AICTE approved or government recognized institutions. This will give students an opportunity to pursue higher education without financial constraints.

YRF CEO's statement: Building the future through education

Speaking on this program, YRF CEO Akshay Vidhani said that the objective of this scholarship is to give children from families associated with the film industry an opportunity to dream big and fulfill them. He told that according to YCF Sathi survey, about 60% of the families of the film industry are struggling with the expenses of higher education. Through this scholarship, efforts are being made to provide a better future to the children of these families.

According to YCF Sathi survey, more than 60% of film industry families are facing financial problems for higher education. This scholarship is an effort to bridge this gap and move students toward long-term economic stability.

Selection Process: Multi-Stage Assessment and Interview

Candidates selected for this scholarship will have to go through a multi-stage process. This will include screening and personal interviews. The fees of successful candidates will be paid directly to the respective institutions.
