A boat accident has occurred in Yamuna river near Keshi Ghat in Mathura. According to the police, there were many people in the boat. Till now 22 people have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. People have died so far in this incident. The incident is being investigated and efforts are being made to find out the cause of the accident.


 


 


 



 


Yogi expressed grief


Expressing grief on this occasion, Yogi Adityanath said, “The loss of lives in the boat capsizing accident in Mathura district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching.” My condolences are with the bereaved families. The concerned officials have been instructed to immediately reach the spot and conduct rescue and relief work and provide proper treatment to the injured. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense sorrow and speedy recovery to the injured.


 



 


All tourists were from Punjab


District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh confirmed the deaths and said that all the tourists on board the boat were residents of Punjab. DM said, ‘6 bodies have been recovered. So far 16 to 17 people have been rescued safely. Efforts are on to find the missing people.


 


It is being told that there were more than two dozen tourists in the boat. Rescue operations are underway, involving teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and about 50 local divers.
