Cabinet Decisions: The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved several major decisions to the country’s infrastructure, energy and agriculture sectors. A major decision was taken regarding the mega refinery to be set up in Rajasthan, while the second phase of Jaipur Metro was approved. Fertilizer subsidy worth over Rs 41,000 crore was also approved for two large hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh for farmers.
Announcing the decision of the Cabinet, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Cabinet has approved a subsidy of Rs 41,533,81 crore under the ‘Nutrient Best Subsidy Scheme’ for the Kharif season of 2026. The subsidy is on phosphate and potash-based fertilizers such as DAP and NPK to provide affordable fertilizers to farmers.
It will be given, Ashwini Vaishnav said, that farmers will not be affected even if the price of fertilizers fluctuates in the international market.
Two gifts to Rajasthan The central government has given two major gifts to Rajasthan, with the Union Cabinet giving a landmark approval to the second phase of Jaipur Metro and HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited. The total cost of both these approved projects is approximately Rs 92,497 crore.

2 major projects in Arunachal
The Cabinet has approved two major hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh, which will strengthen the country’s power supply, the Kalai 2 Hydropower Project at an estimated cost of Rs 14,105.83 crore, a 1200 MW project on the Lohit river. This will generate approximately 4852.95 million units of electricity annually and the state will get 12 percent free electricity,
This 1720 MW project costing Rs.26,069.50 crore has also been approved. This will generate 6870 million units of electricity and will also help control floods in the Brahmaputra basin.
