New Delhi. Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice against Shubham Jaiswal, the main accused who is absconding in the famous case of cough syrup smuggling. With this, the way has been cleared for his arrest at the international level. According to the investigating agencies, the accused is likely to be hiding in Dubai and with the help of the agencies there, the process of arresting him soon and bringing him to India is being started.
According to the police, Shubham Jaiswal was absconding for a long time and several FIRs were already registered against him. In this case to illegal smuggling of cough syrup, the police had earlier arrested many accused and a large quantity of intoxicating cough syrup was recovered. Investigation had revealed that this gang was supplying banned codeine-based cough syrup on a large scale.
Since the revelation of the case, police and other investigating agencies were busy searching for the accused. After Shubham Jaiswal fled the country, the legal process against him was expedited and action was taken to issue a Red Corner Notice from Interpol. Officials say that after the issue of Red Corner Notice, the possibility of arrest of the accused has increased. Now with the help of international agencies, he can be arrested from Dubai and brought to Varanasi.
