Tezzbuzz Desk- Voting percentage has been revealed till 9 am amidst the ongoing voting in three important states of the country – Assam, Kerala and Puducherry. According to preliminary data, 17.87% voting has been recorded in Assam, 16.23% in Kerala and 17.41% in Puducherry.
Voting, which started at 7 am, saw good participation of voters in the first two hours, although the pace of voting was a little slow in some areas. According to the Election Commission, the voting percentage is expected to increase further as the day progresses.
Strict security arrangements have been made in many sensitive areas in Assam. In rural areas, voters were seen reaching polling stations since morning, while in urban areas the crowd is gradually increasing.
At the same time, as usual, enthusiasm is being seen among the voters in Kerala. Due to high literacy rate and political awareness in the state, there is good voting in every election. This time too, the voting process was seen going on in an organized manner in the early hours.
Peaceful voting continues in Puducherry also. Queues of voters were seen at many polling booths here. The administration has made special arrangements for elderly and disabled voters so that they can easily exercise their franchise.
Election officials say that EVMs and VVPAT machines are working properly at all the centers and no major technical problems have been reported.
As the day progresses, the voting percentage is likely to increase. Everyone’s eyes are now on what is the total voting in these states and what effect it has on the election results.
