15 four lane roads of 90.5 km length will be constructed in Chhattisgarh at a cost of Rs 708 crore. This will ease traffic, reduce traffic jams and promote economic development. Road widening and bypass construction has been approved in many districts.

Raipur. In order to provide better and easier transportation facilities to the people of the state, the Public Works Department (PWD) has approved a total of Rs 708 crore 21 lakh 35 thousand for the construction of 15 new four-lane roads. With this amount sanctioned in the financial year 2025-26, 90.5 km long four-lane roads will be built in various districts. This will ease traffic, provide relief from jams and also reduce travel time.

Fourlane road projects and cost details in Durg district

Widening and construction of many important roads in Durg district has been approved.

  • Rs 3.41 crore for 0.5 km road from Durg-Dhamdha-Bemetara under bridge to Agrasen Chowk.
  • Rs 20.64 crore for 7 km road from Smriti Nagar Petrol Pump to IIT Jewra Sirsa
  • Rs 28.58 crore for 4.70 km route from Mini Mata Chowk to Maharaja Chowk-Thagada Dam.
  • Rs 23.97 crore for 1.80 km road from Maharaja Chowk to Borsi Chowk

Four lane widening and bypass construction in Raigarh

Many important projects have also been approved in Raigarh district:

  • Rs 41.49 crore for 2.50 km road from Dhimrapur Chowk to Kotra Police Station Chowk.
  • Rs 55.29 crore for widening of Raigarh-Kotra-Nandeli road from 1 to 5 km.
  • Rs 81.48 crore for widening of Raigarh-Loing-Mahapalli road including electrification from 1 to 5 km.
  • Rs 152.17 crore for 6 km four lane bypass in Tamnar

Road development work in Raipur, Ambikapur and Bilaspur

Road construction works have also been approved in other districts of the state:

  • Rs 17.09 crore for 2.8 km road on Abhanpur NH-30 in Raipur
  • Rs 34.20 crore for 3.50 km road from fair venue to Laxman Jhula in Rajim
  • Rs 61.34 crore for 5 km road from Gandhi Chowk to Railway Station in Ambikapur
  • Rs 82.80 crore for 13.40 km Koni-Mopka bypass in Bilaspur.
  • Rs 14.71 crore for 21 km widening of Kota-Lorami-Pandariya road

Road upgradation and strengthening in Jashpur and Kabirdham

Rs 36.85 crore has been sanctioned for upgradation and widening of three roads totaling 7.30 km in Jashpur district:

  • Pathalgaon Indira Chowk to Jashpur Road (2 km)
  • Indira Chowk to Ambikapur Road (1.50 km)
  • Indira Chowk to Raigarh Road (3.80 km)

Whereas in Kabirdham district, Rs 54.21 crore has been sanctioned for four-lane upgradation and construction of divider from 50 to 57 km of NH-30.

Four lane roads will boost traffic, economy and development

Completion of these projects will not only make traffic safer and faster, but will also strengthen the economy of the state. Agriculture, trade, education and health services will benefit from better connectivity, thereby enabling balanced development between rural and urban areas.

Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Sao said that it is the priority of the government to ensure safe and better transportation in the state. Expansion of four-lane roads is not just a convenience but also a strong basis for economic progress.
