There is good news for lakhs of workers of Uttar Pradesh! The Labor Department of the Yogi government has given big relief to the employees amid backbreaking inflation. New wage rates have been implemented in the state from April 1. The department has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) and issued a new salary structure, which will remain effective till September 30. Salary of people working in these areas will increase

The benefit of increased wages is not limited to government sectors only. According to the Labor Department, people working in a total of 74 types of employment including petrol pumps, sweet shops, haircutting salons, beauty parlors, call centres, private hospitals and clinics will get direct benefits. Earlier the rates were fixed from October 2025 to March 31, 2026, but now the rates have been increased for the new session.

Huge increase in dearness allowance

According to the new rates announced by Labor Commissioner Markandey Shahi, there has been a significant increase in dearness allowance. Dearness allowance for unskilled workers has increased from Rs 5271 to Rs 5563. At the same time, for semi-skilled workers it has been increased from Rs 5798 to Rs 6120 and for skilled workers it has been increased from Rs 6495 to Rs 6855.37. Pathera workers working at brick kilns will also be given Rs 718.13 per thousand bricks laid.

How much monthly and daily wages will you get now?

The Labor Department has clarified that daily and hourly rates will be decided on the basis of monthly wages only. The daily wage shall not be less than 1/26 of the monthly wage.
