The India Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall, thunderstorms, hail storms, and gusty winds for several districts of Uttar Pradesh for the next few days. According to the IMD weather bulletin, rain and thundershowers are expected at a few places in western Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph) may occur at some locations, the IMD said, adding that hailstorm is also likely at isolated places.

In eastern Uttar Pradesh, rain and thundershowers are likely at many places, indicating wider coverage compared to western parts. "Thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds (40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph) are expected at a few places. There is also a chance of hailstorm at isolated locations," the IMD said in its latest weather bulletin.

The IMD has warned of moderate to heavy rain in Agra, Mathura, Saharanpur, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Bareilly, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Sitapur, Barabanki, Lucknow, Kannauj, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Banda, and Lucknow.
An orange alert has been sounded for Lucknow for Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The IMD has forecast intermittent spells of rain thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds and possibility of hailstorm. The department further stated that fluctuating weather conditions will continue across many districts, including Lucknow, between April 8 and April 11. The region is likely to see a mix of sunny and cloudy skies, along with spells of rain, hail, and strong winds.
