Telugu actor-director Adivi Sesh is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Dacoit: Oka Prema Katha. The action-thriller, also starring Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in key roles, marks the directorial debut of Adivi’s best friend Shaneil Deo. Although the movie was scheduled for a March 27 premiere, the makers pushed the release date to April 10, amid Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 craze. Ahead of Dacoit’s big screen premiere, Adivi, who shared screen space with Mrunal, shared his ‘amazing’ experience of working with the actress for the first time.

Adivi Shesh, in a conversation with NDTV, revealed that Mrunal Thakur’s on-set behaviour left him intrigued. The actor admitted that he initially could not understand her working style, explaining that one day she would be cheerful on the sets, while just the next day she would remain quiet, not speaking much.
Adivi Shesh, known for movies like Goodachari, Major and the HIT franchise, added that over time he realised that Mrunal Thakur was so invested in her character that her actions on the set depended on the scenes she was filming that particular day. It was her method to stay in her role and give her best shot. Adivi explained that if a sequence demanded her to be emotional and serious, Mrunal would keep to herself to ensure that her performance was authentic.
Heaping praise on the Sita Ramam actress, Adivi Shesh, admitted that Mrunal Thakur is effortless in conveying emotions through her facial expressions. “It is beautiful to watch that on screen,’ he said, adding that his co-star is not only extremely focused and dedicated in her craft, but also easy and comfortable to work with. Mrunal plays the role of Adivi’s on-screen girlfriend, Juliet, in Dacoit.

The 40-year-old recalled that he met Anurag during Sobhita Dhulipala’s wedding to Naga Chaitanya and their candid interaction ended with Adivi narrating the entire script of Dacoit to Anurag. He said yes to the project almost instantly and the rest was history. Adivi also shared how Anurag acted as a mentor to the film team, helping them with Hindi dialogues.
