Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is all set to return to action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He will be available for the upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals on April 7 at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.


 


The team management has confirmed everything after fitness doubts existed about him before the match.


 

Coach Confirms Hardik’s Availability

 


Mumbai Indians bowling coach Paras Mhambrey confirmed that Hardik Pandya is fully fit and ready to play. He addressed the issue during the pre-match press conference and ended all the rumors.


 


Paras Mhambrey said:


 



“Hardik Pandya will be available for tomorrow’s game. He was not injured; he was unwell. He is fit and fine now.”



 


The statement confirmed that the MI captain has no existing injury issues.

Why Hardik Missed the Last Match

 


Hardik Pandya missed the match against Delhi Capitals which took place on April 4 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. His absence created a lot of talk among fans.


 


Suryakumar Yadav acted as temporary team leader for the match. Pandya missed the game because of illness which required medical attention. The team management decided not to take any risk with their main player.


 


He did not play the last match but Hardik Pandya remained with his team. He traveled with the squad to Guwahati after the Delhi match and continued his preparation. His participation in practices was noted as well and he was seen actively engaging with his team mates in practice games.

In preparation for their next game against Rajasthan Royals, Hardik Pandya participated in some net practices. He bowled and also played some innings in practice matches.


 


He focused on his bowling practice in the nets according to the news. In the practice game, he stated "If you are able to land yorkers then everything else is very easy".


 


Also, he played his innings under the supervision of Kieron Pollard. His batting seemed smooth and confident.
