On April 2, Shatner posted on Instagram to let everyone know he's fine and called out the Facebook page behind the fake images, which was using artificial intelligence for clicks and cash.
Even though the page is gone now, he warned that misleading stories can stick around.
His message? Don't believe everything you see online—artificial intelligence can be helpful but also easily abused for spreading false information.
