New Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will look to continue their winning run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 when they lock horns in a blockbuster clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday, March 04. Both teams won their respective opening matches of the season.

Mumbai Indians pulled off their highest successful chase in IPL history to beat Kolkata Knight Riders in their opener at the Wankhede Stadium, while DC got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in their opener at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. A run-fest is on the cards in Delhi, where smaller ground dimensions and a batting-friendly wicket will make life difficult for bowlers.

MI have been handed a massive boost ahead of the clash as New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has joined the squad and is likely to play against DC. Santner missed MI’s opener against KKR due to late arrival. His addition will further bolster an already strong MI squad. DC will continue to miss Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who is yet to arrive in India for IPL 2026.

In their last game, DC’s top order was left exposed after a stuttering start, however, Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs combined in the middle order to take their team home in a tricky chase. MI, on the other hand, saw Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton produce two impressive knocks at the top to help them chase down the target of 221 runs against KKR in their opener.

Both teams will hope for their batters to step up at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where the bowlers will be put to the sword. The average first-team score in Delhi since IPL 2024 is 212, which is the highest among all venues in the IPL, an indication of what to expect at the venue on Saturday.
