Mohali: Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that Rishabh Pant is trying his best to regain his form in white-ball cricket and cement his place in Team India. Yuvraj has expressed confidence that Pant, who is training under his mentorship, will perform brilliantly in the upcoming IPL.
Yuvraj said, “He is a player who always wants to move forward and get better in cricket. He wants to make a strong comeback in white-ball cricket. If we can make him mentally strong, he can perform well. You will get to see a different Rishabh Pant in this IPL. Let us tell you that Yuvraj Singh has also played an important role in improving big players like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson.
Yuvraj insists on talking to the players directly and understanding their mentality. In this connection, he spent three-four days with Pant in Mumbai. During this time, he worked on removing the shortcomings of Pant's batting and making him mentally more clear.
Pant played his last ODI for India in August 2024 on the Sri Lanka tour. Then he scored only 57 runs in 3 matches. Despite being a part of the Indian team that won the Champions Trophy in 2025, he did not get a chance to play a single match as KL Rahul was the team's first-choice keeper. Despite stellar performances in Test cricket, Pant's recent statistics in white-ball cricket have not been anything special.
One of the most expensive players in IPL history, Rishabh Pant will now take the field against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5. Fans hope that Yuvraj's mentorship will bring a big change in Pant's career.
