Filmmaker Suparn S. Varma has revealed the story behind Yami Gautam’s cameo in “Dhurandhar: The Revenge”, describing it as more than just a brief appearance and calling it a “surprise package” for viewers.The film is already in the news for its twists, but audiences were particularly drawn to a small scene where Yami Gautam plays a nurse. And the real talking point was her name, Shazia Bano.



Sharing this funny anecdote, Varma said, “Aditya Dhar had seen the cut of his film Haq. After watching it, he told me he had shot a surprise. I asked what, and he said, ‘It’s in the last scene of Dhurandhar.’ I asked again, ‘What is it?’ He said, ‘Yami’s character.’ I asked again, ‘What character?’ He said, ‘Guess what? A nameplate!’ I laughed. I jokingly said, ‘Is she playing the role of a nurse and playing my uncle?’ He laughed and said, ‘Her name is Shazia Bano.'”



Varma said that at that moment, he realised there was a special connection between the two, especially regarding their work. The exchange reflected the mutual admiration they share for each other’s work.
