Director Ali Abbas Zafar took to his Instagram handle on Friday to announce that the shoot has officially begun, dropping two pictures that have already got everyone’s attention. No title yet, but trust me, what we know so far is more than enough to get excited about.

Ali Abbas Zafar posted two photos on Instagram, one giving a glimpse of Ahaan Panday on set with only his eyes visible and an intensity that is hard to ignore, and the other showing a clapboard that reads Production No 79, Director Ali Abbas Zafar. He captioned the post with the words, ‘And it BEGINS’, tagging both Ahaan Panday and Yash Raj Films. The title has not been revealed yet, but Ahaan Panday had already given fans a peek into what to expect during an interview with NDTV, where he said that it is an action film and it is being led by three people who are under the age of 30. It is something that has not been done for a very long time. Sharvari is also confirmed to star in the film, making this a very exciting young ensemble.

Ali Abbas Zafar also opened up about working with Ahaan Panday in a statement, and what he said was genuinely lovely. He shared that he loved Ahaan Panday’s sincerity. In today’s time, when everything can feel performative, he brings a kind of old-school honesty to his performances, like the romantic heroes we have grown up watching and loving. You cannot act vulnerable on screen, and he embraces vulnerability, which is incredible.

For context, Ahaan Panday made his debut with Saiyaara. This movie was released theatrically on July 18, 2025, to fantastic reviews from both critics and audiences. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, the film told the story of a musician and a poet who fall in love, only to face heartbreak when she is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Ahaan Panday and his co-star Aneet Padda were immediately declared Bollywood’s newest Gen Z heartthrobs. Going from Saiyaara to an Ali Abbas Zafar action film is quite fascinating, and I cannot wait to see what he does with it.
