New Delhi: Actor Ahaan Panday has officially begun work on his next film, teaming up with filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar for an ambitious action entertainer backed by Yash Raj Films. The project marks the Saiyaara star’s first major film following the success of his debut film, and early glimpses suggest a large-scale cinematic spectacle in the making.

The shoot commenced this week, with Ali sharing the first on-set glimpse on social media. Posting a picture on X, the director revealed Ahaan holding the film’s slate while standing on set.

Ali kept the caption short and simple, writing: “And it begins .” The post quickly sparked excitement among fans eager to see the young actor’s next big-screen outing.

Although the title and storyline remain under wraps, the film is expected to blend high-octane action with a strong romantic thread. Ali, known for staging visually grand entertainers, is reportedly planning the project as a large-scale theatrical experience.

The film will also feature Aaishvary Thackeray and Sharvari Wagh in prominent roles. Aaishvary Thackeray recently made his acting debut with Anurag Kashyap’s film Nishaanchi, while Sharvari has steadily built a reputation with her performances in recent Hindi films.

Industry insiders suggest the film will highlight a dramatic face-off between Ahaan Panday and Aaishvary Thackeray, with Ali designing the narrative around a younger generation of actors. A source earlier told The Hollywood Reporter, “Ali Abbas Zafar is known for mega entertainers like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, so you can expect him to mount the Ahaan–Aaishvary clash on a huge scale. The film has romance at its core and action designed to shock and awe, and Ali is not going to hold back. It is meant to be a full-blown big-screen ride.”

For Ahaan Panday, the project comes shortly after his debut film Saiyaara, which introduced him to audiences in 2025. Directed by Mohit Suri, the musical-romantic drama paired Panday with Aneet Padda and featured performances by Alam Khan, Rajesh Kumar, Geeta Agarwal Sharma, Varun Badola, Shaad Randhawa, Shaan R Grover and Sid Makkar.

Released in theatres on July 18, 2025, the film earned mixed-to-positive reactions.
