'Silenced, not defeated': Raghav Chadha shares message for 'Aam Aadmi'
03 Apr 2026
Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha MP and former deputy leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Upper House, has reacted to his replacement by Ashok Mittal.
The AAP replaced Chadha with Mittal amid reports of differences between him and the party leadership.
In a video posted on social media, Chadha said he was silenced, not defeated.
Have I done something wrong: Chadha
Public issues
In his video, Chadha questioned the AAP's decision to stop him from speaking in Parliament.
"Whenever I get a chance to speak in Parliament I raise public issues. Maybe I raise topics not usually raised, but is raising public issues a crime? Have I committed a crime? Have I made a mistake? Have I done something wrong?" Chadha asked.
"I am asking this question because the AAP told the Secretariat to stop Raghav Chadda from speaking in Parliament," he said.
'Always spoke on public-centered issues'
Message
He said he always spoke on public-centered issues like airport food and middle-class tax burdens.
"Why would someone stop me from speaking. I speak on aam aadmi, airport food, gig workers, middle class tax burden and strike on content creators....and raised issues. These issues helped common people. How does it affect AAP. Why would someone want to silence me?" Chadha said.

Video
Hours after he was replaced, Chadha shared a video outlining the topics he presented in Parliament. The video showed him flagging issues, including mobile data usage, paternity leave, food adulteration, aircraft delays, and purported paper leaks.
"I have a message for those who snatched my right of speaking," Chadha said, ending with, "Meri khamoshi ko meri haar mat samajh lena, mein woh dariya hun jo waqt aane par sailan banta hai."
Chadha's active voice in Parliament
Recent activities
Chadha has been an active voice in Parliament, often raising social and economic issues.
Recently, he had spoken against the practice of "sarpanch pati" or "panchayat pati," where women elected to reserved seats are used as proxies by male relatives.
Chadha was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2022, becoming its youngest member at 33. He has been associated with the AAP since its inception.
