We all enjoy packing our bags and spending some time in the sun but, when travelling, there are rules you need to follow when it comes to packing your suitcases. Popular airline Ryanair has recently named the item that should never be placed in hand luggage, and it's vital you know about it before you travel.
When it comes to air travel there are all sorts of rules you need to be aware of, and this one is really important. After all, we all want to be safe when travelling, and nobody wants to risk facing lengthy delays at the airport either.
It's not the only item that's banned. Little you may know, the airline advises a few items should be kept out of your cabin bag.
The topic formerly came up onReddit, when one person asked: "Can I bring my darts on a plane or do I need to check my luggage? Kindly, please advise."
It's a question that got a lot of people talking, and they offered all sorts of different ideas. They shared their thoughts with the original poster.
One said: "Always put darts in checked luggage - doesn’t matter if it’s soft tip or points removed, not worth the risk. If you are worried about losing them, buy an air tag or similar android version and store that in your luggage.
"Air tags have been a life saver for friends travelling with instruments and golf clubs when the airport decide to lose your baggage."
Another simply replied: "Luggage." A third added: "I always take mine apart and separate the components in my checked bags. Remove the stems and flights.
"I usually fly international though. If it is put together then it seems to be easier to be seen as a weapon."
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "I took mine to Turkey from the UK, and kept them in my hold. Don't leave them in your carry-on."
It may sound unlikely to some, but a lot of people travel with darts, so it's information many need to know. Whether it's to liven up a trip with the boys or have some family fun at the hotel, they're items a fair amount of people like to travel with.
However, there are rules when it comes to taking them on a plane. Luckily, somekey advice is shared on the Ryanair website.
What does Ryanair say?The website states: "The following items must not be carried on board, but may be carried as part of your checked baggage. Objects with a sharp point or sharp edge capable of being used to cause serious injury, including darts."
It also lists a variety of other items that shouldn't be placed in cabin bags. There are reasons why darts should never be included.
Generally, darts should never be placed in cabin bags. Though rules can vary between airlines, darts are often considered sharp, prohibited items by most airlines and airport security due to the fact that they can be classed as weapons.
They should be packed in your checked luggage to avoid confiscation at security. This will prevent any potential issues or delays.
