How useful is paratha?
First, let’s discuss the parathas. It is usually made from wheat flour, which is a good source of complex carbohydrates. This means it releases energy slowly, keeping you active and energized for longer. This is the reason why you don’t feel hungry again immediately after eating paratha. Parathas also contain a good amount of fiber – especially when prepared using whole wheat flour. It aids digestion and helps maintain balanced blood sugar levels. Plus, if loaded with ingredients like paneer (cottage cheese), lentils, or spinach, it’s loaded with protein—good for muscle health and effective in keeping you feeling full longer.
When is it considered healthy?
However, a parantha is considered truly healthy only when prepared using minimal oil or ghee. You can further increase the nutritional value of the batter by adding flours like ragi (millet) or oats.
