Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 1 (ANI): Singer Arpit Bala has finally spoken out after a video from his Hyderabad concert went viral, showing him indulging in an on-stage altercation with a fan.
The incident took place during his show on March 28, when a bottle was thrown towards the stage while he was performing. The video shows the singer reacting angrily, pointing at the person, throwing the bottle back, and asking security to remove the attendee.
Now, days after the incident, Bala shared a video on his YouTube channel to present his side of the story. Calling it "not an explanation" but his version of events, the singer said, "It's not an explanation, but I want you to see my side of the story."
"Everything was fine for the first four songs; everybody was enjoying. Then suddenly, while I was walking, a bottle came and hit me in the eye. The problem isn't just that it hit me, but that they had already thrown one or two bottles before. When it hit my eye, it broke my flow, and I got angry," he added.
"What I said or did in anger... was it justified? In a way, you could say I should have been the bigger person, but that's easier said when someone is provoking you. I was hit in the face, and it was not even disrespectful; it was just a safety hazard. My face is not a bullseye," he further said.
Arpit Bala also accepted that his response was impulsive and said he "lashed out" in the heat of the moment. He added that while he knows he should not have reacted that way, such behaviour crosses limits. "Out of impulse, I lashed out at them... I shouldn't have done that... But when you cross boundaries, you can't expect me to dilly-dally about it."
Arpit Bala, whose full name is Arpit Balabantaray, became popular with his viral track "Bargad" in 2025. He is also known for songs like "Rakhlo Tum Chhupaake," "Ik Kudi," "Nahani," and "Pyari Amaanat." (ANI)
