A British national, who worked with the BCCI as a broadcast engineer for IPL matches, died in his room at Mumbai’s Trident Hotel, raising concerns. It has been learned that the deceased has been identified as British national Ian Williams Langford.

    Ian Williams Langford was staying at the Trident Hotel since March 24 in connection with the IPL match coverage. Information has been received that the match was played between Mumbai Indians and KKR on 29 March. After the match was over, Ian came back to his room (number 2715). After this, on March 30, when the receptionist tried to call his room, there was no answer.


    When there was no response from Ian Williams Langford’s room, the hotel staff went to check on him. When there was no response from inside, he opened the room with the master key and found Ian Williams Langford lying on the floor. The hotel’s in-house doctor was immediately informed, who declared him dead. An accidental death report has been registered at Marine Drive police station and further investigation is underway.
