If you're looking for an exciting destination to visit in April that's set to be filled with sunshine in spring - there's one place you must consider. Located in Spain, this pretty city is not one of the mainstream places for tourists to visit, meaning you won't have to battle through crowds.
Valencia has around 300 days of sunshine, says Visit Valencia, and in April, temperatures can reach up to 21C. If you decide to book a trip, you'll find modern flair mixed with historic culture - the perfect blend of old and new. The city is perfect for a short break, such as a long weekend as it won't take you long to get there from the UK. Visit Valencia adds: "Valencia is one of those destinations that never disappoints."
One must-visit spot in the area is Oceanogràfic València which is the biggest aquarium in Europe.
A visitor on Tripadvisor said: "Most beautiful aquarium ever visited. Staff helpful and welcoming. Impeccable and very clean environments.
"The animals are well cared for and the climate you breathe is one of pure love for these species. A beautiful experience recommended for all ages."
Another place you should visit while you're there is Mercat Central de Valencia which is a historic and vibrant public market.
In the market, you'll find a variety of fresh produce on sale at its more than 250 stalls.
You'll also have the chance to enjoy delicious tapas, sharing plates and sandwiches at a place where Valencians have been coming to shop for centuries.
On a travel blog called Dan Flying Solo, Dan says Valencia is the perfect city for slow travel.
He says: "As far as big cities go, Valencia deserves recognition for often feeling like a small town.
"Beyond the most famous sights, the local districts are all distinct, with Ruzafa's vintage stores and quirky cafes feeling a world away from coastal Cabanyal's salty air and fisher traditions. Slow down, and Valencia will reward you."
Its Old Town is worth walking through - don't forget to look out for the Valencia Cathedral as you stroll along.
The city's Silk Exchange (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is another fascinating place to visit for tourists.
You can get to Valencia in just two hours and 20 minutes on a flight from London.
If you're looking for a holiday destination this spring, Valencia could be the spot for you.
