New Delhi: Vinfast is set to launch its first MPV offering for Indian in mid-April. The all-electric MPV will be sold with a different name here, which is ‘Limo Green’ for fleet buyers, a name used in global markets, and ‘MPV7’ for private buyers. The Vinfast MPV7 is likely to take on three-row EVs like Kia Carens Clavis EV, Mahindra XEV 9S, and BYD eMax 7.

In terms of exterior, the MPV7 comes with a familiar look that we have already seen with the brand’s VF6 and VF7, complete with front and back LED light bars, vertically-oriented headlights, and aero-optimised alloy wheels. Of course, the MPV7 does come with boxier proportions to make it more roomy on the inside.

The global-spec MPV7 comes with a seating capacity of up to 7 occupants. It gets a minimal dashboard layout, with a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a floating centre console, which becomes a kind of highlight. There is no instrument cluster or digital driver’s display in the global-spec. However, in the Indian-spec, it might come with a heads-up display for instrumentation, quite like the VF6 and VF7. 

In terms of features, it comes with a 4-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, steering-mounted controls, and the lot.

In the global markets, the MPV7 comes with a 60.13 kWh battery pack that powers a single front-mounted electric motor. The output is pinned at 204 bhp and 280 Nm of torque and has 450 km of NDEC-claimed range. With an 80 kW DC fast charging, the MPV7’s battery can do 10-70 per cent in 30 minutes, and that is something expected for the Indian market as well. 

Vinfast will also extend the benefits towards MPV7, like a 75 per cent buyback scheme (based on the trade-in car’s ex-showroom price), a special incentive of Rs 2 lakh for those shifting from an ICE-powered car, free charging until 2029, and even a 10-year warranty. The Vietnamese EV maker is also planning to expand their footprint in India by building 75 touchpoints by the end of this year.
