Controversial photoshoot in Jaipur

Jaipur: A unique case has come to light in the capital of Rajasthan, which has created a stir on social media. Here a Russian photographer, Julia Buruleva, painted a real elephant bright pink for her special photoshoot. Pictures of a model sitting on this pink elephant are becoming increasingly viral, causing outrage among animal lovers and internet users. They see this act as cruelty towards animals.

Ideas inspired by Rajasthani culture

Julia Buruleva came to Jaipur as part of an art campaign. While sharing pictures of this controversial photoshoot on his Instagram, he said that this idea came to him inspired by the colorful culture of Jaipur. His dream was to have a pink elephant standing in front of traditional Rajasthani doors. He also said that the elephant is an important symbol of Rajasthan, so it was necessary to include it in his art project. It was challenging for him to obtain permission and arrange for an elephant for this shoot.

The photographer gave clarification

When questions started being raised about the safety of animals after this photoshoot, Julia clarified that the pink color used to color the elephant was completely natural and local. He said it was the same color used during festivals in India, so it did not cause any harm to the elephant’s skin or health.

Anger on social media

Despite the photographer’s clarification, people’s anger is not subsiding on social media. Many people consider it to be abuse of animals in the name of art. One user said that it is cruel to come to India and paint elephants just for likes on Instagram. Other users also raised the question that when technologies like AI are available nowadays to beautify photographs, then what was the need to cause pain to the real elephant.
