New Delhi. Bollywood’s versatile and talented actress Dia Mirza recently shared the experiences of her 25 years of career. His first film ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ is considered a cult classic today, but it was a flop at the box office at the time of its release. Diya told that after this flop, people started calling her ‘Panauti’ in the industry. People who earlier wanted to work with him suddenly distanced themselves from him.
Difficult times and personal setbacks
Diya told that the initial years of her career were very challenging. She faced comparisons with Aishwarya Rai and lost her father at the age of just 24. Due to this emotional injury and continuous flop films, Dia decided to take a break for a short time. During the break, he tried his hand in production and made films like ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’ and ‘Bobby Jasoos’.
Rajkumar Hirani and the turning point of his career
The biggest change in Dia Mirza’s career came when she herself called director Rajkumar Hirani and asked for help. Dia said, “I remember, when the casting of ‘Sanju’ was going on, I told Raju sir that please give me work, I don’t have any project and I am struggling. I am also ready to give a screen test. Hearing Dia, Rajkumar Hirani contacted Ranbir Kapoor and his team and offered Dia the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata Dutt in ‘Sanju’. Dia considers it as a ‘lifesaver’ of her career.
Blockbuster success and new opportunities
The blockbuster success of ‘Sanju’ gave a new direction to Dia Mirza’s career. After this, she got the offer of web series ‘Kaafir’, which Diya considers as the biggest change in her life. Recently Diya was seen in the web series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ and the film ‘Nadaaniyaan’. He says how a right role and story can completely change the life and career of any artist.
