Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a shooter of Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang. The arrested accused has been identified as Deepak alias Dilawar, who is said to be associated with Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virendra Charan gang. Police have recovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol and 5 live cartridges from the accused. Investigation has revealed that this gang was making extortion calls in many states including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab.

In December 2025, gang leader Virendra Charan had demanded Rs 10 crore from a jeweler in Delhi. At the same time, in 2025, a demand of Rs 5 crore was made from a travel company owner in Nakodar, Punjab. To create pressure, firing was done at the office on 13 January 2026. One of the three shooters involved in this firing was identified as Deepak alias Dilawar.

The accused was caught with the help of informers

The Special Cell, with the help of informers, sent teams to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and the accused was arrested on 23 March 2026 from Sainik Vihar, Delhi. During interrogation, the accused told that the illegal weapon was given to him by Pankaj Rajput and he had connected him with gangster Virendra Charan. He received the firing order through encrypted chat. Also, the accused was preparing his base for the gang in Delhi. A case has been registered in this matter under the Arms Act. The investigation is continuing by the Special Cell.

Rohit Godara hiding in Portugal or Canada

Many shooters/members of Rohit Godara gang have already been caught (many arrests have been made since December 2025), but the main gangster is still absconding. Rohit Godara himself has not been caught yet. He is at large and has possibly been linked to cases abroad, such as Portugal or Canada. On March 29, 2026, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested a shooter of his gang.
