Dhoni Injury Update : The popularity of former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni is not hidden from anyone. Be it any city, the stadium is packed with fans who come to see Dhoni. But, the first half of IPL may be disappointing for this legend player, because the CSK wicketkeeper batsman, popularly known as ‘Thala’, may miss half a dozen matches due to injury.
Actually, MS Dhoni is injured, and he will be out of the first 2 weeks of IPL 2026 due to calf injury. CSK had officially confirmed this. After which a reputed media outlet has claimed in its news that Dhoni will not be able to play about six matches for CSK in IPL 2026 due to injury. The report quoted CSK sources as saying that Dhoni’s chances of returning to the field before the last week of April are very slim. In such a situation, while Dhoni was out of 4 matches as per earlier reports, now he is not going to be seen on the field for about 6 matches.
On Dhoni’s injury, a senior CSK official said that this is definitely a big blow for us and we have to recover from it. Let us tell you that the first match of Chennai Super Kings will be against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on 30 March. Dhoni, who will turn 45 this year, is one of the four wicketkeepers in the CSK squad. Apart from him, the team also includes Sanju Samson (who was traded from Rajasthan Royals), Karthik Sharma and Urvil Patel. Sanju can do wicketkeeping in Dhoni’s absence.
