Patna. The Bihar government has taken a tough stance against the striking officers and employees in the state. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has clarified that criminal action and an FIR will be registered against any union leader or official who threatens the officers returning to work or obstructs their work.

Principal Secretary CK Anil has instructed all the District Magistrates to immediately register an FIR in such cases and ensure action. The government has considered this both a violation of service rules and a serious criminal act.
Action under which sections
Officers who threatened their colleagues through WhatsApp or social media during the strike will be booked under sections 126, 127, 132, 195, 349, 350, 351, 352 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023. Along with this, action will also be taken under Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000.

After government strictness, so far 24 officers have returned to work. Non-striking officers have been instructed to continue administrative work by giving them additional responsibilities. The department has asked all DMs to take immediate action in such cases and send reports to the department.
Deputy Chief Minister’s statement, action will be taken
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that law and order and administrative discipline will not be compromised in the state. He clarified that threatening honest officers who have returned to work is not just cowardice but a serious criminal act. Strict action will be taken against such people.
