In a statement shared alongside Kiara Advani’s first look reveal as Nadia from Toxic, director Geetu Mohandas made it very clear that Kiara Advani was always her first and only choice for the role. She said some performances do not just belong to a film but redefine an artist and called what Kiara Advani created on screen nothing short of transformative. She also spoke about the faith and heart Kiara Advani brought to their shared journey, saying she is deeply proud of her as a director.
Coming from someone as creatively meticulous as Geetu Mohandas, that level of praise means a great deal. Kiara Advani’s first look as Nadia was striking and showed a very different side of her, something raw, complex and far removed from anything she has done in her Hindi film career so far. Toxic also marks Kiara Advani’s Kannada debut, with the actress joining the film in April 2024 as the female lead opposite Yash.
