PM Modi has today inaugurated the first phase of Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) in Uttar Pradesh. Work is going on rapidly towards building the largest and most modern international airport. This airport is going to become special not only in size but also because of its multi-modal connectivity and green infrastructure.

Noida International Airport being built in Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving towards becoming the largest aviation hub of the country. The special thing is that this airport is being prepared with multi-modal connectivity, so that passengers of North India will no longer have to depend on Indira Gandhi International Airport for international flights.

Strong connectivity with expressway network

The airport is directly connected to the Yamuna Expressway, while the Ballabhgarh link of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will allow faster access to Haryana and Western India. In the coming time, connectivity with Ganga Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway will be further improved, due to which Ghaziabad, Meerut, Palwal and Sonipat will be directly connected.

Emphasis on rail and high-speed connectivity

Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project is proposed to connect Delhi to Jewar. There are also plans to include Jewar station in the Chola-Rundhi rail line and the future Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed ​​Rail.

Expansion of bus and electric mobility

Bus services will be run from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Also, Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA will together run 500 electric buses, which will provide green connectivity to the airport.

Smart travel options for travelers

Mahindra Logistics branded cab service will start at the airport. Apart from this, services like Uber, Ola, Rapido and MakeMyTrip will also be available. Passengers will also have the option of self-drive and car rental with driver.

The airport is being constructed using LC3 technology, which will reduce carbon emissions and this project will become an example of green infrastructure.

Modern terminals and facilities at Jewar Airport

Terminal-1 will be spread over about 1.37 lakh square meters, with 48 check-in counters, 20 self-baggage drops and 9 security lanes. 9 immigration counters and fast-track facility will be provided for international passengers. There will be 10 aerobridges for domestic flights and separate arrangements for international flights.

high capacity operation

The airport will be capable of handling around 30 flights per hour and will have a capacity of handling 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo annually.

After the opening of Jewar Airport, lakhs of passengers of North India will get direct benefits and the pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport will be reduced to a great extent.
