Tezzbuzz Desk- The much-awaited season of IPL 2026 is going to start from March 28, where the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play the opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, while the final will be held on May 31 and a total of 74 matches will be played in the entire tournament.
This time the league has been divided into two groups, where Group A includes Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings, while Group B includes Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants.
The teams will face the teams in their group once and the other group twice, with the matches being played at 7:30 PM and 3:30 PM respectively.
This season, many teams have adopted two home grounds, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru will also play its matches at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur, while Punjab Kings will play its matches in New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, and Rajasthan Royals will play its matches in Jaipur and Guwahati.
Apart from this, trades and auctions have changed the balance of the teams, where Sanju Samson joined Chennai Super Kings, while Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran arrived in Rajasthan (although Curran is out due to injury), Cameron Green became the most expensive player and Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 25.2 crores, while many big players like Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Lockie Ferguson will not be available in the initial matches, which is going to increase the excitement of this season.
