News Desk. Work on a new road project for Ayodhya and surrounding districts of UP is going on at a fast pace, which includes a proposed 80 km long ring road around the Ayodhya pilgrimage area. This road will pass through Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda and Ambedkarnagar districts and will completely change the connectivity of the area.

What will be the benefit of Ring Road?

With the construction of this ring road, the transportation of the pilgrimage area and surrounding villages to the capital Lucknow will become easier. The problem of crowding on the highway will be reduced during religious festivals and fairs in Ayodhya, because people will be able to move out of the fair area easily through the ring road. At the same time, people of Basti and Gorakhpur will be able to travel directly to Lucknow via Ring Road.

The total length of this project has been fixed at 67.50 kilometers and width at 60 meters. The construction will include seven flyovers, four railway overbridges (ROBs), 16 underpasses, 11 major bridges and 18 minor bridges. Apart from this, two big bridges will also be built on Saryu River, of which 40 percent construction work has been completed. The estimated cost of this entire project is approximately Rs 3,418 crore.

This ring road will not only improve the road connectivity of the township and surrounding districts, but will also give new impetus to tourism and economic activities. The land acquisition process of farmers has also been completed, in which 41 hectares of land of 618 farmers of Basti district has been purchased for Rs 30 crore. This new development initiative will provide transportation facilities to the area residents and visiting pilgrimage sites will also become easier.
