The Government of Jharkhand is taking significant measures to improve healthcare services in the state. In response to the pressing need for more medical professionals in government hospitals, a recruitment initiative has been launched to hire 1,277 doctors. This move aims to enhance treatment facilities and strengthen the medical education framework.

Recruitment Process Managed by JPSC

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) will oversee the recruitment process. The state government has issued a notification to the Commission to facilitate the hiring of these medical professionals. This initiative is expected to increase the number of doctors available in hospitals, ensuring timely medical care for patients.

Diverse Medical Positions to be Filled

This recruitment drive will fill various essential roles in the medical sector. Among the positions available, 942 Medical Teachers will be appointed to enhance educational quality in medical colleges. Additionally, the recruitment will include 96 Super Specialists, 180 Specialists, 666 Expert Doctors, and 335 Medical Officers, thereby strengthening healthcare services across the state.

Expansion of Medical College Seats

To foster medical education, the state government is also increasing the number of seats in its six medical colleges. Starting from the upcoming academic year, an additional 220 seats for Undergraduate (MBBS) programs and 211 seats for Postgraduate (PG) programs will be introduced. Alongside this, the recruitment of qualified faculty members is being expedited to maintain educational standards.

Enhancing Education Quality with New Appointments

To further improve educational quality, 180 Assistant Professors will be appointed. Out of these, 155 positions are regular, while 25 are for backlog categories. These appointments will span 24 departments, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics, ensuring students receive high-quality training and mentorship.

Focus on Super-Specialty Services

The government is prioritizing the enhancement of super-specialty services. As part of this initiative, 96 super-specialist doctors will be recruited in fields such as Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Urology, and Oncology. This will enable the treatment of complex diseases within the state, reducing the need for patients to seek care elsewhere.

Increase in Expert Doctors at District Hospitals

To improve healthcare access for the public, 666 expert doctors will be appointed to district and sub-divisional hospitals. Among these, 506 positions are general, while 160 are for backlog categories. The highest demand is for Physicians (226) and Pediatricians (224), which will enhance treatment for common health issues and pediatric care.
