When the Mind Gives Up
Excessive mental fatigue primarily affects cognitive functions, particularly your ability to think clearly. If you find yourself overwhelmed by even simple decisions, this is a clear sign of "decision fatigue." Additionally, if focusing on tasks becomes challenging or you find yourself repeatedly reading the same text, it indicates that your cognitive capacity has been stretched too far. Forgetting small details can also suggest that your brain is processing information much slower than usual.
Behavioral Changes
Mental exhaustion can lead to difficulties in emotional regulation. If you notice increased irritability over minor issues or sudden anger without clear reasons, these are significant indicators of mental fatigue. Furthermore, withdrawing from activities you once enjoyed or distancing yourself from loved ones can signal mental burnout.
