When will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play?

India Cricket Schedule 2026-27: Team India's home series schedule for the next year has been revealed. Australia, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe will tour India over the next 12 months. During this period, Team India will play a total of 22 matches in 17 different cities. The BCCI has released this schedule for September 2026 to February 2027. However, before that, Team India will also play a home ODI series against Afghanistan.

With the schedule released, Indian fans will also be curious to know how often their favorite players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will be seen playing in the next year. Here's a list of all the dates when Virat and Rohit will be seen playing.

Since Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma now only play ODI matches, the series against Afghanistan could be the first time they'll be seen on Indian pitches since IPL 2026. The India-Afghanistan series will run from June 14-20. After that, the West Indies will tour India, where they will play a three-match ODI series against Team India.

After that, the Sri Lankan team will travel to India to play a three-match ODI series against Team India. Zimbabwe and India will also play a three-match ODI series in early 2027.

• 6 January - India vs Zimbabwe - 2nd ODI - Hyderabad


• 9 January - India vs Zimbabwe - 3rd ODI - Mumbai

This means the Indian team will play only 12 ODIs on home soil over the next 12 months. Even if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma play in all of these matches, they will only be able to play a maximum of 12 matches over the next year.
