Some of you may already be aware of Iceland's Christmas dinner in a box for £25. It sold out for a second year in 2025, and when I tried it, I was super impressed with the quality of the ingredients and how easy it made cooking one of the most anticipated meals of the year.

And due to its success, Iceland has bought the roast dinner box back just in time for Easter, but is it as good? Well, I have tried it, and I am going to say it is instantly better because of the addition of one item the Christmas box was crying out for: Yorkshire puddings. I know not everyone has a Yorkshire pudding on their festive roasts, but we do, and we are so happy we can celebrate Easter with these little clouds of puffed batter.

An Iceland spokesperson said:"After the overwhelming demand for our dinner in a box concept during the festive season, it was clear our customers wanted the same convenience and great taste at other key seasonal moments.

"Designed to feed four people comfortably, the box takes the stress out of seasonal hosting, offering an affordable, noprep solution without compromising on quality. We're proud to make celebratory meals easier, tastier and more accessible than ever."

What's inside?

For Easter there are two boxes to choose from, chicken (£25) and lamb (£30) meaning you can still feed a family of four for around £6.25 per person.

And I think the portions are more than generous, so if some of your family of little ones, you are going to get more out of it.

What was it like?

I received the lamb box, and after trying both Christmas boxes in 2025 and 2024, I knew what to expect and that Iceland would include all the cooking instructions on the box.

I consider myself a decent home cook, but it is great to have all the timings laid out and this is the main draw of the dinner in a box, as while some will argue you can get much of the items cheaper, expecially fresh in the run up to Easter, you are also paying for the convinence, so you can ease the mental load at busy celebrations.

You can cook the lamb from frozen, but we let our leg of lamb defrost in the fridge for 24 hours, which means less cooking time. And once that meat is in the oven, the rest is so easy. Iceland have printed the cooking times on the back so you can have everything ready at the same time.

We used the oven for our dinner because it was already on for the lamb, but you can also use the air fryer for the sides if you prefer.

I was impressed with the lamb; while there was fat on it, it only added to the flavour, and we had some lovely cuts of the meat for each serving as well as extra for a cheeky leftover sandwich. It was of nice quality and was delicious, smothered in the gravy, and we added our own mint sauce.

I love a frozen veggie, so I really enjoyed the honey-glazed parsnips; these are highly recommended, as are the roast potatoes. They were nice and crispy on the outside and had a good, well-seasoned flavour, but were still fluffy on the inside, better than Aunt Bessie's if you ask me.

The carrot, broccoli and pea mix was also good, because sometimes they can be a little bland if you get a cheap frozen bag, but these taste fresh. The gravy had a good consistency and a full, meaty flavour, while the Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets helped elevate this roast dinner to feel really special.

Verdict

Have I had better roast dinners? Yes, but I love this product from Iceland, everything in one box, easy to cook, and no chopping involved; it feels really accessible.

And if you wanted to add mash or carrot and turnip or stuffing, you can, you can just make it your own and use the items in the box as a base. And I love that finally, we have a roast dinner in a box with Yorkshire puddings, which has to make it an eight out of 10 for me.

After the huge success of the Christmas launch, Iceland is encouraging shoppers to act fast, with the new boxes expected to fly off the shelves once again, and I can see why.

Available from today (Tuesday, March 24), while stocks last, in-store and online at Iceland and The Food Warehouse.
