Sohum Shah ’s ‘ Tumbbad 2 ’ has been making headlines ever since its announcement. The makers are going all out for the sequel to the cult film ‘Tumbbad’. As per the latest development, a massive set is being constructed for the film’s first shooting schedule.



Massive set being built for ‘Tumbbad 2’According to a Hindustan Times report, a sprawling set spread across 7 to 8 acres is currently being constructed in Mumbai. The report adds that the set will resemble a “full-scale city” and will be used for the film’s first schedule.



So far, details about the film’s storyline remain under wraps, except for Sohum Shah reprising his role in the sequel. The report suggests that the makers are aiming for a much grander scale and ambition with the second installment.



The film is expected to go on floors later next year.



More about ‘Tumbbad’Directed by Rahi Anil Barve , ‘Tumbbad’ was re-released in theatres last year and received an overwhelming response from audiences. The film reportedly earned over Rs 38 crore during its second theatrical run.



Originally released in 2018, the film had collected around Rs 13 crore at the box office at the time. It was made on a reported budget of Rs 15 crore.



Nawazuddin Siddiqui joins as antagonistNawazuddin Siddiqui has been roped in to play the antagonist in ‘Tumbbad 2’. Speaking about the project, he said, “Tumbbad has always been a film I admired for its originality and atmospheric storytelling. When Sohum shared the vision for the sequel, I liked the story and joined them on their journey.”



Calling the collaboration “truly exciting,” he added, “The character I’ll be portraying has many layers, and I’m looking forward to exploring this immersive universe with such a passionate team.”
