Chepauk has hosted numerous special nighttime events throughout its history, yet this particular night created a distinct magical atmosphere. The stadium remained empty because no IPL match took place, and no players participated in the game. The event dedicated its time to honor past players who built the present-day strength of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which represents its current state of success.

CSK established their first Hall of Fame by inducting Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden at the Roar '26 fan event which occurred on Sunday. The moment affected every CSK fan who had seen the team achieve seven victories which included five IPL championships and two CLT20 titles.

Suresh Raina remains the second most important name at CSK after MS Dhoni. From 2008 to 2021, he played a key role and became the team’s heartbeat. He achieved four IPL championships and two Champions League victories while scoring 5529 runs for the yellow team. Fans call him ‘Mr IPL’, and he spent almost his entire career with CSK, except for the two seasons when the team was suspended.

Raina known as "Chinna Thala" maintains a strong fanbase at Chepauk Stadium. His 234-run performance in the 2014 Champions League earned him Player of the Tournament. His big match consistency made him essential for CSK during their successful period. Raina achieved 1593 T20 runs at Chepauk which only Dhoni surpassed.

Matthew Hayden made his impact during his first years as a professional cricketer. He scored 572 runs during 2009 to win the Orange Cap through his aggressive batting performance which he showed at opening positions. His contributions proved essential during the championship victory of the team in 2010. He established himself as a major overseas performer for CSK by scoring 1117 runs across three seasons. The franchise received special permission from the Gujarat Titans to bring Hayden to the event because he currently works as their batting coach during this season.

The evening presented an ideal combination of historical elements and current elements. Former stars like Muttiah Muralitharan, Mike Hussey, S Badrinath, and Ambati Rayudu joined the celebration alongside the current squad. MS Dhoni also honoured India’s recent T20 World Cup winners, including Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson. Ayush Mhatre received a special memento for leading India to a remarkable Under-19 World Cup victory.
