Paddy Doherty has asked for "prayers" for his wife following her admission to hospital. The Celebrity Big Brother winner, 67, revealed his wife of 49 years, Roseanne, is battling pneumonia. In a video shared on TikTok, Paddy shared further details on his wife's conditions as he strolled round the medical ward. Paddy explained that Roseanne is in hospital receiving treatment via drips, which is why he has been absent in recent days.
He continued: "But thank god. She couldn't be in a better place than in a hospital. She'll get the attention, she's getting looked after. As long as she's alright." He described the hospital as "the greatest place in the world" before he was seen greeting fans in the car park.
"It's nice to be nice," he said, explaining he greets people he's never met before.
The Irish TV personality signed off the clip: "Just wanted to let you know about my woman. Be lucky, be safe and god bless you all."
In his caption, he wrote: "Prayers for my wife."
Fans were quick to flood comments with supportive messages, with one writing: "Sending best wishes. Hope your wife gets better soon."
A second shared: "Prayers for your Wife Paddy. Get well soon Roseanne."
A third posted: "Hope she gets well soon mate. It's tough for you but stay strong mate."
The former bare-knuckle boxer married Roseanne in 1977 and share five children together. The couple, best known for appearing on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, live on a traveller site in North Wales.
In 2019, Paddy announced he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Opening up about fighting the disease at the time, he said: "I've been to hell and back with this and it's worse than getting a horrendous beating. The pain got so bad that I actually thought about taking my own life on two occasions. But I just couldn't do that to my family - and instead I just drank myself into oblivion.
"And it was my wife who suggested I should speak out about the condition - she said it might encourage other men to get themselves checked out."
After undergoing a gruelling six-hour surgery, Paddy was declared cancer-free. He added: "The only people who have known about this are my wife, my brothers and sister."
