Mumbai: This is a very sad time for fashion designer Manish Malhotra. His mother, Garima Malhotra, died on 19 March 2026 at the age of 94. This news has sent a wave of mourning in Bollywood and fashion sector. His funeral was held on Friday, March 20, at the Hindu cremation ground in Santa Cruz West, Mumbai, where various big stars participated.

Manish Malhotra is one of the most talked about designers of the Indian film industry. Over the past three decades, he has designed many spectacular costumes, which always attract people’s attention. Last year, he produced films like ‘Saali Mohabbat’ and ‘Gustakh Ishq’ as a producer. The relationship between Manish and his mother was very deep.


During the trailer launch of ‘Gustakh Ishq’, he told that his mother was sharp minded even at the age of 95 and used to enjoy watching the trailer and listening to the songs. Many prominent Bollywood celebrities attended the funeral, who consoled Manish. Karan Johar, who is a close friend of Manish, was already seen there.


Urmila Matondkar also arrived peacefully and paid tribute. Khushi Kapoor and Ori came together representing the young generation. Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani were also present there. Other stars including Vijay Verma were also seen outside after the funeral. Earlier, many celebs had reached Manish’s house after hearing the news of his demise.


Many names like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sonali Bendre, and Ananya Panday expressed their condolences. Many people also paid tribute on social media by writing ‘Om Shanti’.
