There was a change in the weather in Delhi for the last few days. In the beginning of March, the scorching heat troubled the people. The weather became pleasant due to strong winds and rain late Wednesday evening. People got relief from the heat, due to which the temperature dropped in the national capital. Even today, IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi.


In the first week of March the temperature reached more than 35 degrees. People were troubled by rising temperatures and strong winds. The weather patterns have changed in the last few days. The weather became pleasant due to strong winds and rain late on Wednesday evening. People got relief from rain and strong winds, which brought down the temperature in the national capital.


On March 18, IMD had predicted rain, thunder and lightning in Delhi NCR and dozens of cities of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Even today there will be clouds in the sky in many states including Delhi. However, light rain is expected till afternoon or late evening. According to IMD forecast, there will be rain in Delhi NCR and some areas of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.


Two days alert in Delhi


A warning of rain and strong winds has been issued in the northern states of India due to western disturbance. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that due to active western disturbance, rain and strong winds will continue in many states for the next two days. There is a possibility of rain in Delhi, its surrounding cities and dozens of towns of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert saying that there is a high possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning over the entire Delhi and NCR region, along with strong winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.


Rain alert in these states also


IMD has issued a rain alert in many districts of Haryana along with Delhi. There is a possibility of rain in Narwana, Jind, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Sonipat, Rewari, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Nuh, Palwal, Jhajjar, Charkhi Dadri and many other districts.


This instability of weather is not limited to the North only. It is expected that rain and snowfall will continue in the higher reaches of the western Himalayan regions including Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Whereas it has rained in the lower areas.


There is a possibility of rain with dust storm and thunder in Punjab, Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat also. Isolated rainfall systems induced by moisture activity are present over Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Northeastern states.
