LPG ATM: Currently, there are widespread LPG cylinder supply challenges throughout the country. Many individuals are experiencing delays in booking and receiving their cylinders, leading to long lines outside gas agencies. However, there is some positive news from Gurugram, Haryana, where a new LPG facility has been launched. An LPG ATM has been made available to the public, allowing customers to bring in their empty cylinders and have them refilled in just 2 to 3 minutes.

This initiative has been introduced as a pilot project by Bharat Gas, a subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, aimed at offering customers quick and easy access to gas around the clock. Now, let’s delve into how you can refill your LPG cylinder at an ATM and who stands to gain from this service.

Where has this facility started?

The LPG ATM has been set up at Central Park Flower Valley, a residential community located in the Sohna area. It is being recognized as the first LPG ATM in North India. With this machine, individuals no longer need to wait for an agency or delivery when they run out of gas. This service arrives at a time when many customers are seeking quicker and more efficient options for LPG refills.

How does LPG ATM work?

The LPG ATM functions through a fully digital and automated system. Customers can refill their cylinders by following a few straightforward steps. First, they need to input their registered mobile number into the machine, which is then verified through an OTP. Next, they scan the QR code or barcode on their empty cylinder. Payment can be made using UPI, debit cards, or other digital payment methods. Once the process is finished, the machine keeps the empty cylinder and provides a filled one in just 2 to 3 minutes.

Who will get the benefit of this facility?

Currently, this facility is limited to consumers affiliated with the local Bharat Gas agency. However, it has been launched as a pilot project, and if successful, it could be expanded to other cities and regions in the future. It’s worth noting that the cylinders dispensed from this ATM are not iron, but fiber-based composite cylinders. They weigh approximately 15 kg and are rust-resistant. They are also easy to use and have a transparent body, making it easy to see the gas level.
