There are many patients suffering from coma in India. But recently this medical condition came into limelight when the court approved euthanasia in the Harish Rana case. Harish is now in AIIMS Delhi, but meanwhile another case similar to Harish's has come to light. This is the story of Anand Dixit, a resident of Mumbai, who has been suffering from coma for 2 years, which repeats the same pain in many ways. The only difference is that the family here is still not giving up hope, but till now Rs 4 crore has been spent on the treatment of Anand who has been unconscious in coma for the last 2 years.

35 year old Anand Dixit is in coma for the last two years. One night in December 2023, his life changed forever. Anand met with a serious accident on 29th December. He suffered head injuries and went into a coma after this accident. From then till today, he is breathing with the help of life support machines and is being fed through a tube.

Anand's condition is such that his heart is beating, breathing is going on, but there is no response from the body, but his caretaker Arjun Prajapati is engaged in serving Anand day and night. In the hope that maybe one day Anand will open his eyes and talk to her again, but after 2 years of waiting, this has not happened yet.

More than Rs 4 crore has been spent so far on Anand's treatment. The family sold their land, exhausted all their savings and are even now in debt worth Rs 50 lakh, but there is still hope that someday Anand will recover.

Anand's father tells that during treatment he had to visit many hospitals and pay such expensive bills. Even the insurance company did not pay the claim. His father says that he sold everything he had. Just to hear father from the mouth of a son, but the son has not said anything even once in 2 years.

While Harish Rana's case has sparked a debate on euthanasia, Anand Dixit's family is stuck on the path of hope and struggle, but so much money has been spent that they are financially broke, but even today they have not given up hope of recovery.
