New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals have shifted from their traditional pink jersey to a brand new blue jersey for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 19th edition of the cash-rich tournament will start from March 28 to May 31 and in what comes as a big transition from their old stuff, the Royals have a given a fresh look to their kits.

Originally, the one-time champions used to wear a blue jersey but as years passed by, the 2008-IPL winners switched to a pink jersey. Now ahead of a new season, they have again unveiled a blue jersey as the fresh attire was revealed in Jaipur in presence of many team members.

The franchise this season will be headlined by the homecoming of veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja alongside rising stars Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashraj Punja. Skipper Riyan Parag, Suryavansh among others were present at the jersey launch of the franchise.

Seasoned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s return to the Royals squad marks a full circle in his career, coming back to the franchise after nearly 20 years after he first represented them under the legendary Shane Warne. After a legendary stint with five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Jadeja expressed his eagerness to mentor a squad he describes as exceptionally youthful.

‘I will share my opinions and suggestions with the team. Whatever is necessary for the betterment of the team, I am ready to do it,’ Jadeja stated during the launch event.

‘As a senior player, you always have to take a little more responsibility. Whatever contribution you make for the team matters the most. I would not say I am playing with young players; I am playing with ultra young players. So as a senior player, it will be quite exciting. I will get to know many new and young players. I am playing for the Royals again after 17 years. For me too, it will be a learning experience going forward.’

Rajasthan Royals are slated to play three matches in the first phase of the tournament as per the schedule released till April 12.
