While many reactions were coming out for not paying tribute to Dharmendra at Oscars 2026, now Hema Malini also broke her silence. In a conversation with ‘Bollywood Hungama’, the actress said, ‘This is really shameful. It’s a shame to ignore an actor who means so much to so many people in so many parts of the world. Dharam ji was a well-known actor everywhere. He did not receive many awards in his life. Why should they care about the Oscars? We both were happy to find love in our country. But awards always remained away from him. Even I did not get any award for my excellent acting in Laal Patthar and Meera.

Esha Deol’s reaction
Now Esha Deol has also given her opinion on this whole matter. While talking to ‘Variety India’, Esha said that she does not think that it would have made any difference to Papa. Isha said about her father that his heart has always been so big that he does not worry about such things. Isha said, ‘I don’t think Papa would ever have been bothered by this. Oscar clarified
There was a lot of uproar over not including Dharmendra in Akshar, now while talking to Variety, Rob Mills clarified that the final decision on who will be shown on TV is taken by the ‘Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ (AMPAS). He said, ‘Unfortunately, we are losing a lot of great personalities every year so perhaps the names of some celebrities get left out.’
