Keeping in view the situation in West Asia, a review meeting of LPG gas supply was held in Madhya Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora and ministers gave instructions to ensure regular supply of gas cylinders, stop black marketing and strengthen the distribution system.

Bhopal. On the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, in view of the ongoing geopolitical developments in West Asia and the situation in the Middle East countries, its possible effects in Madhya Pradesh were reviewed. The meeting of the Cabinet Committee constituted for this was held in the Ministry on Friday.

In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Chaitanya Kashyap reviewed the situation and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Minister Chaitanya Kashyap participated in this meeting through virtual medium.

In the meeting, measures to ensure timely availability of LPG gas cylinders to domestic consumers and to maintain the smooth distribution system through gas agencies were discussed in detail. Along with this, efforts to bring back safely the migrants from Madhya Pradesh living in Gulf countries were also reviewed.

Instructions to ensure regular supply of LPG gas in all districts

Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora directed the officials to ensure regular supply of LPG gas in all the districts of the state. He said that no consumer should face problems like shortage of gas cylinders or delay in delivery. He asked the officials to strengthen the supply system by making better coordination with the gas companies, so that there is uninterrupted availability of LPG gas in both urban and rural areas.

Immediate action if irregularities are found in gas distribution

The status of operations of gas agencies, timeliness of cylinder delivery and complaints received from consumers were also reviewed in the meeting. The Deputy Chief Minister directed that if any complaint of irregularity or delay in gas distribution is received in any area, immediate action should be taken on it. Officials were asked to maintain full vigil to ensure timely availability of gas cylinders to consumers.

Instructions to stop black marketing of gas cylinders

Food Minister Govind Singh Rajput said that petroleum products are available in sufficient quantity in the state. He directed the officials to take strict action against those involved in black marketing of gas cylinders. He said that the demand and supply situation should be monitored by continuously coordinating with gas agencies and oil companies, so that there is no shortage of cylinders in any area.

The Minister said that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, ATS, crude oil and domestic gas in the state and their supply is continuing. Continuous action is also being taken under the Essential Commodities Act. So far, investigations have been conducted at 115 locations, 350 gas cylinders have been seized and 2 FIRs have been registered.

Instructions to resolve technical problems in cylinder booking portal

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Chaitanya Kashyap said that some consumers faced problems due to technical problems in the portal created for gas cylinder booking. He directed that this technical problem should be resolved soon. Along with this, he said that wherever necessary, arrangements for offline booking should also be made through gas agencies, so that consumers do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Preparations to safely bring migrants from Gulf countries

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami informed about the availability of petroleum products in the state and efforts to bring back the migrants safely from Gulf countries. State Nodal Officer of Oil Companies, Ajay Srivastava said that sufficient stock of gas cylinders is available in bottling plants and distributors' warehouses. Due to large number of cylinder bookings by some consumers, there was additional load on the servers, causing a temporary problem. This is being arranged soon. He said that as per the instructions of the Petroleum Ministry, domestic consumers will be able to make the next booking only after 25 days of their previous refill.

Adequate availability of petroleum products, appeal to avoid rumors

Officials said the country's refineries are working at high capacity and the supply of crude oil is being ensured from regions other than West Asia. The supply of domestic PNG and CNG is also continuing and there will be no cut in it. Consumers have been appealed not to be misled by rumors and not to book gas cylinders unnecessarily.

Instructions for setting up control rooms at state and district level

In the meeting, instructions were given to set up control rooms at the state level as well as the district level and review the situation daily. For any complaint or suggestion related to gas supply, consumers can contact the toll-free numbers of the oil companies:
