12 Mar 2026
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that there is no fuel shortage in India while apprising the Parliament about India's energy supply situation.
He said the refineries are operating at high capacity utilization and in several cases, they are exceeding 100%.
"There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, kerosene, ATF or fuel oil. The availability of petrol, diesel, aviation, turbine fuel, kerosene and fuel oil is fully assured..." he said.
LPG availability fully protected: Puri
LPG security
Puri also addressed concerns over LPG availability, saying it remains fully protected despite global geopolitical tensions.
He said India has diversified its energy sourcing in recent years to lessen dependence on any one region.
Earlier, about 60% of India's LPG imports came from Gulf countries, but the government has since expanded sourcing options for supply security.
