Belthangady: Two persons sustained minor injuries after a car lost control, hit an electric pole and overturned near Kapu on the national highway in Mundaje village of Belthangady on Tuesday.

The injured have been identified as Srinivas (53) and Shanmukha (46), residents of Tiptur. Both escaped with minor injuries and were treated at a private hospital in Kakkinje.

According to reports, the car was travelling from Tiptur towards Ujire. The accident occurred around 4 am on Tuesday when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Kapu in Mundaje village. The car veered off the road, crashed into an electric pole and overturned.

The impact of the collision snapped the electric pole, leading to a power outage in the Mundaje and Didupe feeder areas under the Kakkinje electric sub-station until afternoon.

The vehicle suffered significant damage, with one side of the car completely wrecked in the accident.
