Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis honored Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, who played crucial roles in India's 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup title win.


The ceremony was held at Fadnavis's official residence in Mumbai.


While Suryakumar became the third Indian to win the T20 World Cup, Dube made pivotal contributions as an all-rounder during the tournament.

During the meeting, CM Fadnavis congratulated both players and praised their contributions to India's successful title defense.


Suryakumar smashed 242 runs from nine matches at a strike rate of over 136. SKY's only half-century came against the USA in India's opening fixture. His 84* (49) bailed India out at Wankhede Stadium.


Dube played important cameos down the order, finishing with an impressive strike rate of 169.06. He also took five wickets in nine games.




BCCI announces ₹131 crore reward for Team India

On March 10, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a massive cash reward of ₹131 crore for Team India.


BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the cash reward for Team India after their historic win.


The reward is an increase from the ₹125 crore announced in 2024 by former BCCI Secretary Jay Shah for Rohit Sharma's victorious team.

India's win in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final was a historic moment as they became the first team to successfully defend the title.


With this victory, India also became the first nation to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup three times.


The final match saw Sanju Samson score a blistering 89 runs and Jasprit Bumrah take four wickets for just 14 runs, leading India to their third World T20 title.
