Kathryn Hahn confirmed to play Mother Gothel in Disney's 'Tangled'

Kathryn Hahn has been confirmed to play the role of Mother Gothel in Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation of Tangled.

The news was announced by Hahn herself on social media, where she shared a video of herself wearing a T-shirt featuring images of her character.

Disney Studios also supported the announcement on their platforms.

The original animated film was released in 2010 and became a beloved classic.

Hahn will succeed Donna Murphy
Role details

Hahn will be stepping into the shoes of Donna Murphy, who voiced Mother Gothel in the animated version.

The character is known for kidnapping Rapunzel and raising her in isolation to exploit her hair's magical powers.

Murphy also congratulated Hahn on her casting, commenting under her post, "KATHRYN !! From one Mother to another ... Congrats ! And remember... I love you MOST (sic)."
